Crow Flute-Turquoise "A" Walnut
Crow Flute in A
Crow flutes are Ebonized walnut with inlayed turquoise. In the early 1900’s, woodworkers developed a dying process called Ebonizing. The dying process penetrates the wood fiber deeply, simulating the black texture of Ebony. Walnut is ideal for this process because it is hardwood with a dark brown grain that streaks through the black dye giving it a similar look to Ebony. The sound quality of the wood is not changed by this method.
